Ordering Information

Placing An Order

After you've picked out a model, reviewed the pricing and options pages, and have decided how you would like your new bass configured then send me a detailed wish list via email and I will put together a formal quote for you.  Quotes are valid for 30 days.  Should you decide that you would like to proceed, having me build your new bass, let me know and I will send you an invoice with payment instructions for an initial deposit.  I require a non-refundable 50% initial payment, payable by check or money order to get started on your new bass.  I will also accept PayPal payments, but that option will require and additional 3% transaction fee which will be added to your invoice.  Once the construction of the bass begins any changes requested by the customer that deviate from the specifications contained in the original invoice may incur additional costs. You will be notified of any additional costs prior to us implementing your requested changes.  I may require payment for the additional costs before the changes are made.

Upon completion of your new bass you will be promptly notified and emailed a final invoice for the balance due plus any shipping cost that may apply.  You will have seven days to pay the invoice, payable by check, money order or PayPal (+3%).  Once the funds have cleared, your handmade, custom built LeCompte Electric bass will be shipped to you complete with gigbag, securely packaged and fully insured.  Should the customer default on the final payment I reserve the right to posses the bass forever and ever, or sell it as we see fit.

Return Policy

We will accept returns for "In Stock" instruments only. Upon receiving an "In Stock" bass, the customer will have 72 hours to decide if the bass is right for them. If they are not satisfied they must then return it immediately in its original condition.  Return shipping is at the customer's expense. For "In Stock" instruments we will refund the entire price of the bass, minus shipping & handling costs when the bass is back in our hands.

We do not have a return policy for custom spec'd instruments.  You order it, you own it.  No returns or refunds on custom builds, period.  If you commissioned a custom built automobile or a custom built motorcycle and tried to return it for a refund you probably wouldn't be too successful.  Or if you had a custom home built for yourself and decided you didn't want to move in or pay for it you would probably have some problems on your hands.  It's the same with custom basses built by me.  Custom means custom.  It is your vision.  A custom built dream bass does not mean there are a bunch of folks standing in line to snatch it up if you decide you don't want to pay for it.  Again, I require a non-refundable, 50% initial payment towards the purchase of any new custom instrument. The remaining balance and shipping charges are due when the instrument is complete.

Warranty

We guarantee all materials, components and workmanship on all LeCompte Electric Bass instruments for a period of two years from the day the customer takes delivery.  We do not guarantee against wear and tear caused by the owner/player.  Any and all modifications made to an instrument by the customer or any other party after the customer takes possession of the instrument voids the warranty completely.  All components of an instrument must be the original, "As Received" components to make a warranty claim, unless a component was specifically replaced with an identical component due to failure.
