Originally from San Angelo, Texas, Chewy began playing bass in the school orchestra. Soon after
high school he hooked up with guitarist Deuce Wanier and the ember that became Ember was
ignited. After some personnel changes Ember eventually landed in Austin, Texas with serious
musical pursuits in mind. After a couple of global armed forces tours, a European tour as the
opener for the band Hinder and a couple of indie releases Ember was signed with VSR/EMI. The
result was the release of their major labor debut album, “Embrace” in early 2010. The first single
“The Deep End” quickly shot up the charts, having garnered nationwide airplay with their second
single, “Embrace” close behind. Chewy can be seen in the videos for both singles playing his
LeCompte ACID-J5. With the addition of his new signature model bass Chewy’s plans include a
Youtube video instruction series as well as a stint with Montana Max and the Trailer Park Mafia.
